About Me

Dana Andresen

Raised in Florida, but reborn in the Sierra Nevada, Dana is a photographer just trying to visit the world's most beautiful wild places. Never one to believe you need the most expensive equipment for the best pictures, or even for most outdoor adventures, Dana carries either a Pentax K-1000 film camera or a Nikon D7500 digital SLR camera, but sometimes only has an old GoPro or Samsung Galaxy cellphone on hand for that perfect shot. But it's that spontaneous meeting of lighting and a beautiful moment, captured by whatever camera might be on hand, that brings meaning to every day and every photograph.

Way more than just a photographer.

Dana left Florida in 2014, moved out to California, and lived in the deepest recesses of Yosemite's wilderness. That summer was more than a job, and opened a door to the outdoor industry, a job that exceeded her wildest fantasies.

Following the ebb and flow of seasonal employment, Dana soon found herself on glaciers with hundreds of Alaskan sled dogs and training in the Southern Alps in New Zealand with some of the world's most incredible instructors and guides. Years later, as an outdoor educator and professional wilderness guide, Dana's ready to lead you on some of your wildest adventures, leaving nothing but footprints and taking nothing but photographs. Lots of photographs.
